Hello!
The scenario involves (simplified) a finished product and a sub-assembly. The sub-assembly can be produced and stocked per normal process and production happens per MRP. However, there are instances due to component unavailability and unplanned consumption (a sub-assembly can be used for multiple FGs), when there isn’t sufficient stock.
The requirement in such cases is to have a single production order for both FG and SFG because physically it will be produced in one shot and not in two stages. I have considered collective orders but it will not always be collective. Also, considered modelling sub-assembly as phantom for it to explode into one order, but then the normal case of building to stock won’t be possible.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
